Essential Visa Suggestions for International Patients

Mandatory "Medical Visa" Status

Patients must be informed that a standard Tourist Visa is often not recommended for major surgical procedures. In India, for instance, hospitals are prohibited from treating international patients who do not hold a valid Medical Visa (MED).

The Visa Invitation Letter (VIL)

This is the most crucial document. Patients cannot apply for a medical visa without an official letter from your partner hospital that details their diagnosis, treatment plan, and estimated duration of stay.

Medical Attendant Visas

Inform patients that most countries allow one or two family members or caregivers to accompany them under a "Medical Attendant" (MEDX) visa, which is usually linked to the primary patient's visa.

Proof of Financial Means

Patients should be prepared to provide bank statements (usually from the last 3-6 months) to prove they can cover both the medical costs and their stay in the host country.
